Dinner at 7 is a ministry that builds community by welcoming and providing adult members (couples and singles) of our large Holy Family parish a wonderful opportunity to meet and become personally acquainted with other parishioners who share the Catholic faith in an informal and enjoyable setting that involves the sharing of a meal, hospitality and fellowship.
We meet once a month (from October to June) in groups of 6-10 members in parishioners’ homes, for small group dinners. Each couple or individual will host a dinner in their home one time during the year. Two single members may opt to co-host a dinner. The hosts prepare the entree, and each guest brings either a salad, side dish, or dessert to share. Three times a year (October, December & June) Dinner at 7 meets together as a large group for a themed potluck dinner at the Parish Life Center.
Although Dinner at 7’s purpose is to make parishioners feel welcome in a friendly setting, we also support other ministries within Holy Family Catholic Church. For example, at each dinner we collect non-perishable food, toiletries and other items to donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. We also support the Knights of Columbus Valentine Dinner Dance by attending as a group.
Dinner at 7 has been going strong since 2010, and we always welcome new members. If you are new to the parish and seek a feeling of belonging, enjoy meeting new people, cooking and entertaining in your home in a relaxed setting with conversation, laughter, and faith fellowship — we invite you to join our ministry.
