Hope for Hurting Parents (HHP) is a faith-based and facilitator led support group for members of Holy Family and the surrounding community. Our mission is to provide comfort, encouragement and hope for hurting parents in a safe and confidential setting.
Our group is for parents (and/or grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) who have children of any age who struggle with mental health issues, self-harm, eating disorders, substance use, gender confusion, suicidal thoughts and more, and you and your family are struggling with fear, worry, isolation and even shame which unfortunately may accompany this journey with your loved one.
We will cover subjects including but not limited to grief and loss, enabling, coping with fear, anger, communication, self-care and more. We will hear from other parents who have traveled this road before. We will empower each other to set healthy boundaries for ourselves, our families, and for our child. In addition we will occasionally invite health care professionals and individuals in recovery to speak at some of our gatherings. Our goal is to show parents that they can walk alongside their children, love them well and move from a place of barely surviving to thriving.
HHP will meet on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of most months from 6:00-8:00pm in the Parish Life Center.
