A Christian Steward is someone one who receives God’s gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible and accountable manner, shares them in justice and love with others and returns them with increase to the Lord. Our generosity of Spirit, exemplified by our Stewardship offerings of Time, Talent and, Treasure, does not go unnoticed in the eyes of God.
We encourage our parishioners to participate actively and give generously in the ways that are impressed upon us by the Spirit. Here are several suggestions to guide your decision.
Stewardship of Time and Talent through Ministry Participation
Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.2 Corinthians 9:8
Get involved with one or more of our parish ministries! There are many to choose from and you’re bound to find something that fits your time, talent, and interests. Your active participation is much needed and appreciated.
Stewardship of Treasure
Give and gifts will be given to you; a good measure, packed together, shaken down, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap. For the measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you.Luke 6:37-38
Jacob then made this vow: “If God will be with me and protect me on this journey I am making and give me food to eat and clothes to wear, and I come back safely to my father’s house, the LORD will be my God. This stone that I have set up as a sacred pillar will be the house of God. Of everything you give me, I will return a tenth part to you without fail.”Genesis 28:20-22
The word “tithe” comes from an Old English root meaning “one tenth.” The tithe was an offering of one’s agricultural income to the Lord as an expression of thanks and dedication. The main principle behind tithing and giving is the fact that what we do with our money shows where our heart is. When we are able to give 10% or more of our income instead of keeping that money for ourselves, it shows that our heart isn’t tied to our money and that we love God more than our money.
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.Matthew 6:21
Please prayerfully consider contributing to our parish with your financial treasure. It is the means by which we maintain our Catholic mission and our outreach to our parish and community. We have numerous ways for you to do so.
Daily Chapel Campaign
As we continue to carry out Christ’s mission of love through our worship, evangelization, and stewardship, we endeavor to be dynamic and engaged Catholics who offer life-changing encounters with Jesus Christ to the community. Our chapel sustained serious damage during Hurricane Irma in 2017, to the point that the structural integrity of the building was compromised. Thanks to a loan from our diocese, we were able to save the building and prevent demolition, and what’s more, have restored the chapel even beyond its former glory.
As good stewards of our property, we are delighted to bring a vibrant resource back into use at our parish and dedicate it as the Holy Hearts Chapel. We look forward to celebrating many baptisms, weddings, and daily Masses here and are proud to offer space for funerals for many years and generations to come.
We are grateful for your financial support
Since religious institutions in the United States do not receive government support, funding for Holy Family parish comes exclusively – 100% – from donations. Online Giving allows you to make one-time or ongoing contributions to our parish without writing checks or using cash. You can set up automatic contributions and change the timing or the amounts of your gift at any time. Complete the initial account registration here, or download the Online Giving App for your device on the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Thank you for your generosity!
When you register as a parishioner at Holy Family, you are given the option to enroll in Online Giving or receive weekly envelopes, mailed monthly. The monthly envelope packets contain enough envelopes for weekly regular stewardship (the general fund), weekly debt reduction (Our Family, Our Faith, Our Future), monthly support for Catholic Education at Holy Family Catholic School, and monthly support for Capital Improvements. There are also envelopes for all periodic Diocesan collections and Holy Day collections. You can place your cash or check donations in these envelopes and drop them in the collection basket at Mass each weekend.
The envelopes also show us your regular attendance at Mass, which is crucial if you are asked to become a Baptismal godparent or Confirmation sponsor, or wish to be married in our church. Proof of regular Mass attendance is also helpful when enrolling children in Catholic schools.
Year-End and Special Gifts
Each year we are blessed by the generosity of parish members and families whose stewardship of treasure includes tax-deductible year-end gifts.
Donors may also choose to offer a special gift of a bequest, charitable remainder trust, securities, life insurance policy, retirement plan or annuity.
